The hydraulic claw project was a hands on group engineering project. We were allowed to choose our group member and create a claw that would be able to pick up trash, plastic bottles and glass bottles. It was a project that took the whole quarter and our team ran into some conflicts/difficulties.
Difficulties
Some of the difficulties our group ran into was creating a new claw. Our original team had four people. We all worked on the claw as a team and if seemed to have trouble holding together. One of the team members claimed to have done most of the work, so Maile and I stayed up very late that night and we created a whole new claw. This new claw worked very well and took a lot of work to finish in one night for the next days test. Our claw passed the test and we ended up getting full credit. We were proud to acheive a working claw.
Steps
For this claw you had to creat a base, a body, and the claw. The materials we used were cardboard, chopsticks, hot glue, tubes, and syringes.
