In physical science we learned about the solar sytem yet again. We were assigned to do this project with one other partner and complete it in 2 to 3 weeks time. I was already experienced with the project as I did the same one in 3rd grade. My partner and I actually ended up doing a very similar model to the one that I had already done. The model was hanging and had the planets attached to a ring with fish line strings. We attached the planets to the strings with fish hooks and gorilla glue. The planets also had to be painted to a similar shade/style to the real planets in the solar sytem.
Outcome of the Project
This is the outcome of how the project looked. It turned out well and quite how we expected. The only problem that we ran into was the larger planets were closer together as they are in the actual solar sytem. This lead to one side being heavier than the other side, so we had to try to even out the weight, so the solar model wasn't uneven. What we did to fix the problem was putting a small circular medal ring on the lighter side and that evened out the model a good amount.
